Japan 71 v West Indies 72 - http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Women won by 10 wickets (with 201 balls remaining)
After humbling http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747.
After winning the toss, Japan chose to bat first, aiming to post a daunting total on the board to give West Indies a run for their money.
However, the inexperience of the Japanese was sure to kick as predicted by many, owing to the fact the West Indies have a long history in the sport and beating such a country would be easier said than done at any level.
The Windies drew first blood in the 10th over when they grabbed the wicket of Japan opener Ayako Iwasaki who walked off the field after posting only seven runs. She was given leg-before wicket on a delivery bowled by Stafanie http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915. At the time
of this wicket, Japan had managed to post only 22 runs on the board.
Shizuka Miyaji then came out to bat and provided commendable support to opener Mariko Yamamoto as the duo tried to craft a potent resistance against an extremely belligerent West Indies bowling line-up.
The batswomen posted 39 runs together in the second-wicket partnership and seemed well on their way to subdue their opponents, however, their conquest was cut short when on the last delivery of the 21st
over West Indies struck against and dismissed Yamamoto on 27 runs. By the time of this wicket, Japan had amassed 61 runs on the board.
Japan were then incinerated by the Windies as six batswomen were dismissed on nil, reducing the Japanese batting line-up to rubble. Any plans that Japan might have had on clobbering a formidable total were soon pulverised to dust as they could only post
71 runs in 38.2 overs.
Coming out to bat, West Indies cited an easy victory and achieved the required target in 16.3 overs without losing a wicket as openers Kycia Knight and Britney http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Cooper-c51561 scored 24 and 33 runs.
West Indies bowler Taylor was named as the Player of the Match for grabbing five wickets, which helped her team demolish Japan.
