On Saturday, November 26, 2011 spectators saw a sensational match between Netherlands and United States of America, where the Dutch won the 7th Place Play-off by a staggering 126 runs in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s World Cup Qualifier at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 3 Ground, Savar.
The Dutch, who were a better side than the US, exhibited their dominance by incinerating their opponents in a high scoring match and established their bowling superiority against the opponents who were ill-equipped to deal with the situation they were caught in.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Usa-c759 made their first mistake by invited Netherlands to bat first after winning the toss, as the Dutch exploited the batting conditions and made mincemeat of the US bowling line-up.
Openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Denise-Hannema-c53597 dominated the bowlers as they played superb shots all around the park to leave the US bowlers in utter disbelief.
The duo amassed 78 runs before the side lost the services of Veringmeier, who fell two runs short of scoring a half century.
Skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Helmien-W-Rambaldo-c62196, came in at number-three after the demise of her opener and together with Hannema crafted another belligerent batting performance.
The duo clobbered 36 runs together, however, it was the next partnership between Rambaldo and star all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kerry-Anne-Tomlinson-c71029 that really left the USA in complete disarray as the two batswomen smashed 78 runs in the third-wicket partnership.
Both batters batted without remorse as they clobbered the opposition all around the park, leaving the bowling attack in ruins.
The Dutch skipper fell after amassing a superb knock of 53 runs as her wicket was taken by US in the 38th over. At the time of her departure, the side had managed to post 192 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets.
Meanwhile, the stylish Tomlinson kept exhibiting superb talents with the bat as no bowler seemed too difficult for her to play.
The phenomenal all-rounder departed after playing an astounding innings of 73 runs to help her side post a massive tally of 293 runs on the board.
With a tough task ahead, USA never had a chance as they lacked the depth in their batting line-up to chase such a big total against a stiff bowling attack.
Consequently, USA fell after scoring 167 runs in 50 overs, with opener Erica Rendler and lower-middle order batter Triholder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marshall-c74817 both scoring 36 runs.
Tomlinson was at it again as after giving a superb performance with the bat, she became the most successful bowler from her side by taking four wickets in the match. She was also named as the Player of the Match for her outstanding performance.
