Japan 38 v Bangladesh 39 - Bangladesh Women won by 10 wickets (with 272 balls remaining)
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Women’s team grabbed two points from their clash against Japan after beating the opponents by 10 wickets in the ongoing International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s World Cup Qualifier on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha
Protisthan No 2 Ground, Savar.
Although the home side won the game, the match was a disappointment for many as it was a low scoring event and the spectators who had come to see a high scoring event were taken aback by the disgusted batting display.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Japan chose to bat first in a bid to bat their way to dominance against the hosts.
However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Japan-c2928 showed that they still have a long way to go before mastering the art of playing cricket as their batting line-up was incinerated by some phenomenal bowling exhibited by the hosts.
From Japan, Mariko Yamamoto and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salma-Khatun-c88162.
The ironic part of Japan’s innings is the fact that after Yamamoto none of the remaining batswomen could managed to get in double figures as they lost their wickets without giving much of a fight against the bowlers they were up against.
Japan lost three of their batswomen on nil which exposed the weakness in their lower-battling line-up.
In the end, the batting side could only muster 38 runs in 28.3 overs, giving Bangladesh an easy target to achieve.
Coming out to bat, the hosts required a calm start to their innings without taking too many risks as the target as by no means daunting enough to lose the clash.
Meanwhile on the other hand, Japan did not have any other option but to grab wickets in order to win the match for which their bowlers needed to come out with a staggering plan.
However, Bangladesh batswomen subdued their opponents by batting superbly as they reached the required target in 4.4 overs without losing a wicket.
From Bangladesh, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Suktara-c91738 Rahaman scored unbeaten knocks of 13 and 16 runs while in the bowling department Salma Khatun and Rahaman grabbed five wickets.
Khatun was named as the Player of the Match for her sensational bowling performance in the game.
