The Netherlands Women team gained two points in the ongoing International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) Women’s World Cup Qualifier after beating Zimbabwe by six wickets on Monday, November 14, 2011.
Since this was the third match of the tournament and the first for both sides, they wanted to get off to a flying start to begin the tournament in a dominating fashion.

Later in the innings, lower-middle-order batswoman Nonhlanhla Nyathi smashed a well tamed knock of  29 runs off 97 deliveries to not only frustrate the fielding side but also create a window of opportunity for the remaining players to score freely in the dying moments of the innings.
In the end, Zimbabwe managed to post 145 runs on the board in 49.5 overs.
Coming out to bat, Netherlands had a respectable total at hand and needed to retain wickets in hand to grab a win from the clash.
While they lost their first wicket on the penultimate delivery of the fifth over when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Miranda-Veringmeier-c76358 and Kerry-Anne Tomlinson who stole the show by scoring 47 and 46 runs as their side comfortably reached the required target in 25.2 overs.
Tomlinson who took two wickets and also played a nifty innings was named as the Player of the Match for her emphatic performance.
