Ireland beat the team from Japan by 255 runs after clobbering a mammoth tally of 311 runs. Ireland grabbed two points from this win.
After winning the toss, Japan chose to field first, aiming to bowl good enough to rattle the Irish, however, they were in for a surprise as the Irish batted their way to dominance and left the Japan bowlers in complete disarray.
Japan made early inroads by grabbing the wicket of opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clare-Mary-Alice-Shillington-c51089, who had her stumps uprooted on 17 runs in the fifth over. At the time of this wicket Ireland had managed to post only 25 runs on the board.
However, what was about to come next was anyone’s guess, as the remaining Irish batswomen wrecked havoc on their opponents by exhibiting tremendous batting.

It was then on the penultimate delivery of the 24th over when Japan dismissed Whelan, who found her way back to the pavilion after scoring 49 runs.
Joyce on the other hand went on to make 64 runs off 68 deliveries as they smacked the bowlers without any remorse.

Coming out to bat, Japan who do not have much experience in the game of cricket faltered miserably as their batswomen failed to counter the bowling attack they were up against which resulted in their demise after posting only 56 runs in 23.2 overs.
Richardson was named as the Player of the Match for her commendable work with the bat.
