ICC World Cup 2011: Dhoni wants warm-up match performances replicated
Indian Captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 wants his team to replicate their match winning performances during the warm-up games in the ICC World Cup, 2011.
India crushed Australia and New Zealand in their warm-up encounters, and are riding high on confidence leading to their first World Cup encounter against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 on 19 February, 2011.
In their first warm-up game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 by a massive 117 runs. It was a high scoring match
in which India scored 360 in their innings; the Indian batsmen were on the top of their game and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 also scored a brilliant 108.
The wins have fired up the Indian captain.
“Against Australia, we did not show much intensity, but tonight's game being the last match before the World Cup, our intensity was up,” he said.
“Also, we have achieved whatever we wanted to and now, we have to replicate the effort in our first match against Bangladesh.”
Dhoni said that he was determined to play his natural game against New Zealand, before going for the big shots.
“In the previous games, I was pushing myself too much to score runs off every ball that I faced and was getting out in the process, but tonight, I was determined to play myself in regardless of the situation before attempting the big shots,” he said.
Dhoni also praised http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424 for providing a good start to the team.
When asked about the bowling squad, Dhoni said that India would be playing four bowlers which would put pressure on the part-time bowlers to do well. He said that they will play a key role in the World Cup.
