Imran, while talking at a World Cup promotional event in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820, said, “This could be the most even, unpredictable World Cup ever. There are six teams who can beat anyone on a given day. Having said that, I think India stand the best chance. You have all-round
strength in batting and bowling. The batting line-up, in fact, is great. The team is in good form, and it will play in home conditions.”
Imran discarded the notion that India had too many spinners in the squad which might hurt them in the World Cup. “No, I don't think there are too many tweakers in this squad. In Test cricket, you can't get away with this, but in One-day cricket you can do
with bowling all-rounders,” he said.
The World Cup winning captain of Pakistan, Imran insisted that India could do well in the Subcontinent by playing one or two express bowlers. He believed that Zaheer Khan was the man for India who could carry the pace attack of the host country single-handedly.
The prolific all-rounder defended the six-day break between matches in the World Cup and suggested that a long break would ultimately benefit the bowlers of all the teams.
Talking about Pakistan, Imran termed the Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 to be the wildcards in the tournament. However, he stressed that Pakistan’s bowling line-up looks depleted without the presence of Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir, both of whom are suspended due to their
alleged involvement in spot-fixing during Pakistan’s tour of England in 2010.
India’s former captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kapil-Dev-c70234 also favoured Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s eleven to lift the title.
Looking at the current form and fitness of India, there is no doubt that they do have a good chance in the upcoming mega event. The World Cup will be particularly important for Sachin Tendulkar since it will be his last appearance at the quadrennial event
and he would want to win it before he bids adieu to the game.
