ICC announces umpires and referees for warm-up and group matches of World Cup
The International Cricket Council (ICC) today named the umpires and match referees to officiate the warm-up matches and the group stage of the ICC World Cup 2011 commencing on 19 February in the Subcontinent.
Steve Davis of England will be joined by Sri Lanka's Kumar Dharmasena as an on-field umpire during the inaugural match of the extravaganza that would be played between India and Bangladesh in Dhaka on 19 February.

Billy Doctrove would be the TV umpire in the World Cup opener while Asad Rauf of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 will be the fourth umpire. Ranjan Madugalle has been given the role of match referee in the opener.
The 58-year-old Davis has officiated 95 One Day Internationals (ODI) to date.

Dharmasena, a former Sri Lanka off spinner, would be officiating his 20th ODI when India take on Bangladesh in Mirpur on 19 February.
The 39-year old, debuted in 1993 and went on to play 141 ODIs and 31 Tests before bidding farewell to international cricket in 2004. He was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758’s second most productive bowler in the ICC World Cup 1996 with a tally of six wickets behind

Besides Madugalle others, who have been chosen by the ICC to take the responsibility as match referees for the mega cricketing event include, Jeff Crowe, Andy Pycroft, Chris Broad, and Roshan Mahanama.
