ICC confirms http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Davendra-Bishoo-c52569 as Dwayne Bravo’s replacement – ICC World Cup 2011 update
The International Cricket Council (ICC) today approved Davendra Bishoo as a replacement for injured all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo, in the ICC World Cup 2011 squad of the West Indies.
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) had earlier nominated the 25-year-old leg-spinner as a replacement for Bravo, who had injured his left knee last week during their seven-wicket defeat to the Proteas. The ICC on Tuesday confirmed approval of the World
Cup's Event Technical Committee for the replacement. The confirmation was delivered to the WICB on the behalf of the Technical committee
"As per rule, any injury-based replacement requires a written submission to the event technical committee along with a diagnosis from a medical practitioner as to the extent of the injury,” the apex body said in a statement. “The replacement player is a
permanent addition to the squad," the statement read further.
Bravo is the 11th player to be replaced in the ongoing high profile tournament overall and third casualty to the Windies squad. Earlier his teammates, opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adrian-Barath-c42094, were declared unfit for the 44-day long
competition, following their respective hamstring injuries.

The West Indies Cricket Board revealed in a statement that the Bishoo will leave for the Subcontinent in the next few days to join the team in the prestigious World Cup event which is being played in India, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
The 25-year-old leg-spinner, who plays for Guyana in the domestic circuit of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, was the most successful Player of last year's Caribbean T20 Championship and helped Guyana seal the tournament title and qualify for the second edition of the Champions
League T20 staged in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
In the recently 2011 Caribbean T20 championship, Bishoo claimed six wickets. He also picked up 10 wickets in the Regional One-Day competition of WICB, which was played in October last year and finished among the leading bowlers of the tournament.
In the ongoing WICB Regional first-class championship, the 25-year-old has so far picked 15 wickets at and an average of 20.73.
The left-arm leg-spinner from Guyana is yet to debut on the international arena and has appeared in 20 first-class, 10 List A and 13 T20 games. He has also played for West Indies A side. He has appeared in 20 first-class matches, 10 List-A One-Day matches
and 13 T20s. He also played for West Indies-A against Pakistan-A with some success.
