ICC denies ‘Iconic Status’ to India-Pakistan Test series in Future Tours Programme – Cricket News Update
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has turned down a proposal to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Grant-c60671 ‘Iconic Status’ to a Test series between India and Pakistan in its Future Tours Programme (FTP), for the next eight years. No specific reason has been cited for this decision, however,
some link it to issues related to TV broadcasting rights.
Talking to the media today, a BCCI official told, “There was a proposal to hold a iconic status Indo-Pak series every two years but it has not worked out due to number of reasons mainly because of television broadcasting issues.”
