ICC encourages CEO of Tanzania Cricket Association
The International Cricket Council-Africa, has given an award to Zulfikar Rehemtullah, the Tanzania Cricket Association’s (TCA) chief executive officer (CEO), for endorsing the game in the region.
Rehemtullah, is taking the responsibility to coach the Tanzanian national cricket team as well. Under his coaching, Tanzanian team has sealed the fourth position in the ICC Africa Division 2 Championship.
During a prize distribution ceremony, an official of the African Cricket Association (ACA), Cassim Sulliman, appreciated the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625.
“Cricket was played by a few people in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tanzania-c3019, but through Rehemtullah’s efforts, the sport is one of the most preferred in his country. His contribution in Tanzania means prosperity on the continent, so the ICC-Africa awards him a special honour for promoting
cricket,” the ACA chief said.
Rehemtullah has been helping his country develop a strong structure for cricket in order to meet international standards.
Tanzania Cricket’s CEO has also introduced women cricket in the country to expand the interest of the game.
However, there is still a long way to go for Tanzania, as their national team is trying hard to appear on the International stage.
The ICC is encouraging African nations to broaden the scope of cricket all across the region.
A few days ago, the governing body of cricket also took positive steps and gave proposals to Cricket Kenya (CK) for the betterment of the game.
The proposal covers all aspects of cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kenya-c752, such as governing issues, expanding structure of the game, providing amenities, managing domestic cricket affairs, selection policy, applying recruitment producer to engage best executives with the CK,
talent hunting and betterment of Kenyan national cricket team.
Richard, the ICC High Performance manager, visited Kenya to have a detailed discussion with the high authorities of cricket in order to improve the scope of cricket in the country.
During his visit, Done and CK executives discussed the matter with the Assistant Sports Minister of Kenya, Kabando wa Kabando, who highly praised the proposal.
However, previously, the governing body was more focused on making cricket more entertaining instead of paying attention to expansion of game.
Now, ICC is implementing procedures to sponsor cricket in the rural regions, they have cherished the efforts by Rehemtullah to encourage him.
