ICC extends World T20 squads deadline till August 24 – Cricket News Update
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday handed a reprieve to the boards who are not yet ready to finalize their squads for next month’s World T20 Championship in Sri Lanka by extending the deadline until Friday, August 24, 2012.
Initially all the participating boards were directed to submit their 15-man final squads with the governing body by Saturday, August 18, as an ICC provision binds the teams to name their final squads for any tournament, to be played under ICC’s flagship,
30 days before the first ball of the competition is bowled.
But after receiving requests from several of its members, the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided to extend the deadline for naming the final squads. It is understood that England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) was one of the boards that requested
