ICC inaction prompts slogan “No Minnows, No World Cup”
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided that the next World Cup will not feature the associate nations.
They have basically passed a notion to deprive the cricket lovers from the only thing they look forward to every four years. As cricket lovers we cannot just stand and let this tragedy take place. So it is high time that we stand up for them and pass a unanimous
resolution, “No Minnows, No World Cup”.
This prejudice towards the smaller teams is not only demeaning but outright ridiculous. If you ask me, I think the International Cricket Council consists of a bunch of bullies, who think they can do anything, decide whatever they want to and get away with
everything without any repercussions.
And that is what will happen if you ask someone, who as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Young-c41367 boy, was told that he cannot play cricket just because he was not good at it.
I understand people will argue that one needs to have a repertoire of skills at a very young age that are cultivated and horned to make a cricketer out of 10 year olds. But these arguments are meant to misguide and discourage aspiring young players from
following their heart. The taller, athletic kids at school may have made a fool out of me but I will not let others suffer the same fate.
I think I got distracted and strayed from my original statement but anyone who ever went through the same trauma will know how deep rooted this problem really is.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Netherlands-c753 are too young and vulnerable to be judged and subjected to such extreme punishments. So what if their performance in not up to the mark and they have struggled to make any kind of impression in this World
Cup?
What the, so called cricket council needs to understand is that they have to be patient and allow these lesser teams a chance to find their footing. Forget talent, plenty of teams have that already, let them bring something different to the table.
We are all sick and tired of watching the older teams coming up with same old tricks and with players, who are basically new variations of their yesteryear “Greats”. What cricket needs is a total revamp and a complete makeover. These relatively newer teams
are the future and we need to take concrete steps to safeguard and protect their interests.
The organisations though are clearly not up to the task, instead of eliminating the newcomers of cricket maybe they will be better off doing away with the older teams in the next World Cup.
All this talk that the World Cup is too long and uninteresting because of the injection of these associate teams is nothing but propaganda by the older worn out teams as they see them as a big threat.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 and England are probably writing these conspiracy stories and also spreading rumours that the associate countries are not good enough to compete. The world needs to know what kind of politics they are playing so some form of action must be
taken against them.
The cricketing fraternity should not make decisions based on how well a team performs but it needs to realise that what matters is the willingness and the genuine desire to play cricket. That is the only way forward for cricket.
So it’s time that ICC gets over its senseless stance and gives the minor sides a long run and includes other teams like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Afghanistan-c745 in the next edition and organise a World Cup that lasts for at least two months. We are not at all bored and people like us
have nothing better to do anyway.
