In a bid to uproot corruption from cricket, the International Cricket Council has asked all its permanent members to sign an anti-corruption declaration showing support for the governing body’s new anti-corruption procedures.
The declaration is to be signed by the players as well as the officials.
This move by the ICC has gained support from major test playing nations. ICC’s chief executive http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Haroon-Lorgat-c61719 said, “There was a declaration where we asked everybody that is involved in the game- players and officials- to declare their clear intent in joining
us to ensure that the sport is clean.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, the Australian players were happy and had a positive attitude towards the agreement. The Pakistani players
have also willingly signed the agreement and supported the declaration.
The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has said that it will talk to the players about the document after the on-going series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. It wants to brief its players before they sign the contract.
The International Cricket Council is keen to eradicate corruption from cricket and wants to resolve match-fixing once and for all, which has plagued the cricket world for over a decade now.
