HAVE KENMORE ELITE BOTTOM FREEZER WITH ICE MAKERTHE ICE CUBES SMELL HORRIBLE ALWAYS, I EVEN TOSS THEM OUT EVERY FEW DAYS, STILL SAME PROBLEM
I have conpletely emptied and washed the ice cube holder. I threw out all unwrapped and old frozen items. All was either unopened or well sealed. I washed out the freezer with baking soda and rinsed well. I expected the ice to be just as it was in the beginning when the unit was new. The very first time I put the 'fresh ice in a cup with water the taste was there. I have a gadget with charcoal that should be absorbing the stale taste and smell of the ice along with a box of baking soda. None of this has helped. I was so glad to get this icemaker for extra ice and am not able to use the ice at all, It was fine until this last year. This is a Kenmore, top freezer model and almost three years old. I will welcome any suggestions!
