ICICI Bank recruitement policy - Salary Issue - Employee dissatisfaction?

Question

I was working with ICICI Bank in 2003 and left it because our package was very less in comparison to all the new joinee. We were having same qualification and more experience with the Bank but we were being paid less.

Now I have been asked by my ex boss to join again. Human Resources Department is brining my old salary in picture and offering very low grade and salary. My juniors are far ahead than what has been offered to me ?

What shall I do ?

Can I refer the case to anyone for fair and just decision ?

seeking an opinion.

Note : don't bring any personal and official matter here, this is just for finding a solution to my problem.

If they called you back, you should be able to negotiate a better salary. If they don't want to talk, then I suggest finding a job somewhere else. You could go to your labor board and find out about fair practices and see what options you have. The problem is that big companies always have an out for cases like this.

It looks like you really like to work for this company but the company is not paying you 'good salary'. My advice is 'Love your work not your company'.

Now it is your ex-boss who is asking you to come back, so it is they who need your service not vice-versa. So you can rightfully ask for salary that you desire.  Never compromise on your true value. Taking less salary means you are reducing your own value, so don't do that, ever !

Generally the HR folks work towards cutting the salaries as far as possible, don't put yourself under pressure by accepting a low offer.  And since they are offering salary much less than your juniors there should be no hesitation in you to reject the offer

I would say throw the offer on their face, and let them get their act right.

You may negotiate as much as you can. Even after negotiation if you are not satisfy, just don't join.

Like you and me, Human Resources Department of ICICI Bank is trying to record their presence, in your case.

Try and justify, your stand as well as experience and qualification added during the period. You have to take a stand and state these facts to Human Resources Department of ICICI Bank at Mumbai .
