ICS home learning "A" levels Accountancy, Physcis, Maths and science, peoples opinions and experiences please

Question

I am contemplating doing a home learning course in one or maybe two of the above courses and would like to know if it will be worth it? Or if there are better companies to go with? Thanks in advance.

i would not recommend ICS

i got no support from them when i did a GCSE with them

i recommend you try oxford open learning

I did some course with them back in the 70s and they were fine then.

However, I have heard that they are not very good now.  Most people I know seem to recommend the National Extension College.  I think they are about the same price as ICS.  See:

Alternatively, for maths and accountancy, why not see if there are any course specific text books available and work through them by yourself?  I don't know if it would work for sciences though.

Do NOT do any course with ICS.

As soon as they have got your MONEY, you never hear from them again.

I am STILL waiting for a question I asked 8 YEARS ago to be answered - seriously.

Hi Simon,

I've done a religion A-level with ICS.

I found this company to be really good. They sent me the notes, one section at a time which you work your way through, completing exercises, and then submitting an assesment to be marked at the end of each one. The notes were really good, written by experts in a really engaging, usable and stress free way. They offer constant support via email and thier website, and the marking on the assesments was really comprehensive.

ICS is quite expensive, and you still need to finance the exams but other than that I was really impressed.
