Hi, I need to fly out from SFO to BOS this evening, and I can't locate my passport. I am an American citizen, I don't have any state/federal issued identification (only social security number). I have a student ID card from a school I went to in Korea. I have a green card I was assigned to use as a foreigner staying in Korea.

Can anyone help me out? Is it true I can get through security with a school ID?

PS I am 19 years old.

  1. Yes you can, but be prepared to go thru extra screening and extra screening again.

  2. yes, a school i.d. is fine. my son traveled on it.

  3. Well, as long as the ID card as your legal first and last name, along with a photo of you, then you should be fine.
