I've booked a flight for August to Belfast from Glasgow. What forms of ID are acceptable?

My passport has expired and my partners passport has gone missing, so would a provisional driving liscence be acceptable, or what else can I do?

Thanks

  1. As it is a domestic flight you could use:

    A Valid Passport

    Driving Licence with photo

    Valid armed forces identity card

    Valid police warrant card

Valid airport employees security identity pass.

Although its probably best to see what the airline says.

  2. Phone up the passport office.

  3. maybe you have travelled with other ID in the past but everything has been tightened up and you really need your passports ... you need them for other things too so you might as well bite the bullet and get them sorted out

  4. Surely you'll need a new passport. For flights within the same country it's photo ID, but a provisional licence is not accepted. You could use your expired passport maybe, but why risk it? You'll need a new one eventually, so apply for one now, before the price goes up.

  5. As long as you're EU citizens, and your driving licence is the Photocard type, then you don't need a passport on internal flights.
