IDE setup

Question

I have a problem setting up a new Asrock K7Upgrade-600 motherboard. I have two hard disks on IDE 1 and these are working okay. On IDE 2 I have connected my CD ROM drive (MSI Model No. CR52M) but during boot-up I get a message 'Sec Master Drive - ATAPI incompatible'. The drive works perfectly on my old system. Both the motherboard vendor and Asrock are not very forthcoming with help on this one. I have tried various settings for IDE 2 in the BIOS Setup but still finish up with the same error message. Can anybody please tell me how to overcome this problem.
