IDK WHAT CATAGORY TO PUT THIS IN SO HERE IT GOES?

I really really really REALLY want contacs! i look really pretty without my glasses on. the problem is i have this problem in one of my eyes. so if i get an infection i could become blind. sometime i just want to yell in my parents/doctors face WHO CARES DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS IS LIKE TO FEEL UGLY? so yeah. i need help convincing my parents to let me get contacts. cuz im gonna be in high school next year. i wont have braces next year so i wanna do away with the glasses too. i want to re invent my self in high school.

I'm sorry, but vanity is NO reason to put your eye sight in danger. Over the past year, my grandmother's eye sight has deteriorated and now she is completely dependent on my mother in order to just live her life. You should NOT be taking something as precious as sight for granted. I suggest a cute, funky pair of glasses. Because if you can't see yourself, it's not gonna matter what you look like.

Oh I'm sorry, your not vain. Not at all, just because you put your looks ahead of you wellbeing and health DOESN'T make  you vain. Sorry sweetie, that's practically the definition of vain. I think it'll be fun to see if you DON'T listen to me, go blind and then wish you'd done things differently. It'll seem so trivial when your an adult who can't do anything for themselves. But at least you'll be pretty, right?

what good is it being pretty if you can't even see your face in the mirror? infections aren't necessarily going to happen but they are very  likely. even if you always wash your hands and contacts, there is no guarantee that you won't get one. you may take your eyesight for granted right now but once you lose it, you're not going to get it back. imagine what it's like to not see. try walking around with a blindfold all day and then see if you still want to risk that. forget about looks, people can see past that. glasses aren't bad, just get a style that's trendy and suits your face. trust me, going blind is NOT worth it. and there's a very high chance of infection.

edit: not vain? people who put their looks before everything else are considered vain. sarah is right on target! thumbs up to her. you're going to grow up and regret this because there is a huge chance you will go blind. you don't even deserve vision though...you take it completely for granted.
