For the benefit of those who didn't see my last question, I may be moving away to work and am unable to take my horse with me if I do decide to go. If I go, I am still undecided whether I'll retire him or loan him out (To stay at current yard). Anyway, IF I do loan him, how does this advert sound?
For loan: Stevie is a 16.2hh TBxID gelding, 12 years old. He has hunted, show-jumped and done some unaffiliated dressage. I am seeking someone able to bring him on and continue his schooling further due to me moving away. Would suit experienced, sensitive rider, he is a lovely willing horse but is not a novice ride. He has been out of work for 3 months so will need fittening. Opportunity to compete in local dressage for right person. No jumping or hacking out. To stay at present yard in Sedgefield with excellent facilities and where he has all year turnout but is stabled overnight in the winter. Perfect gentleman to handle, he is a real softie! Good to catch, shoe, box etc. but requires sedation for clipping. All tack and rugs included in loan.
Does this sound okay? And I'm not sure what to charge per month. His costs are as follows:
Livery - £172 pcm (inc hay, stable, turnout, use of yard's facilities)
Bedding - Straw, £12(ish) a month
Feed - £20 a month (this is an average cost, as it is more in winter but less in summer)
Shoes - £45 a time, every 5/6 weeks
Insurance - £65 a month
Dentist - £25 every six months
Then worming etc.
