could more women support her as a candidate, is the abortion issue the biggest stumbling block to her being named McCain's VP? How do you feel about her other views? Does it really matter that McCain chose her for what is being perceived to draw in the Hillary voters as long as she finally breaks the barriers to women? You will notice I was not hateful in my question so please dont be hateful in your answer, I am honestly curious why it seems so many women are against Palin.

  1. My mom is/was a staunch Hillary supporter. She says NO WAY IN h**l will she vote for McCain now because of Palin. Many of her friends agree. Palin is anti choice, pro NRA, pro drilling in Alaska, and believes in teaching creationism in schools.

She is a female version of Mike Huckabee. Some PUMA's I know are jumping on the Obama train, not because they like obama but because a vote for McCain-Palin would literally be suicide.

  2. NONONONONO! Don't you guys get it? This woman has NO experience! How can you call someone governing a state that has a population LESS than that of Los Angeles, experience? It is just laughable! Really you think that someone like this can run a nation? Oh man I feel sorry for you all!

  3. Ok, Darin b, she governs over 600,000, not 9000. Get your facts straight. Just so you all know, I went to a public high school and found only 2 girls that supported Hillary. The fact is that a lot of women don't like liberals. They don't believe they're helping their cause because they aren't. They're destroying what once was true femininity. I applaud Palin for her views. She's a true and honest person (something neither Hillary nor Obama could ever hope to be called).

  4. Palin was NOT chosen for her beliefs on abortion. She has experience running a state. She is a Governor. She fought corruption in Alaska and won.

What experience has Obama had community organizer of Chicago. lol. What experience is that? What corruption has Obama fought against? Resko, Obama is friends with him. A now guilty friend who will be sentenced soon.

  5. I'm definitely pro-choice, but I'm more willing to listen to someone who walks the walk than some old white guy who will never bear a child.

Abortion shouldn't be a major factor in the presidential race anyway.  The President doesn't have anything to do with it. Yes, he appoints Supreme Court justices, but that doesn't happen very often, and even then, how likely is it that a case would come before the court?  If you really want to change things, go through your Senators and congressmen.   The only way it will ever really be settled is Constitutional amendment.

  6. Not being a woman, my guess would be because many women probably feel like Palin was chosen as a lure for the disaffected Hillary voters.  That kind of a political choice implies that McCain and the Republicans feel like women are so shallow that they backed Hillary primarily for which kind of reproductive organs she had, instead of her stances on policy issues, her record, capabilities and qualifications.

I'd be against that if I felt someone was pandering that shamelessly and underestimating my depth of thought that much.

As far as the claims of "fighting corruption," Palin is under investigation for trying to get her sister's state trooper ex-husband fired during the divorce, and for firing the supervisor who refused to do so.

Yep, I'm sure she'd be a great change from the crass and illegal politicization of government we saw under Bush.

  7. Well, even though we are all women.  We still have different views which is fine.

I really like Palin.  It's like she will do what is right for America and she has proven it in Alaska.

    Thank you

  8. She's an NRA chick. That's enough to be against her.

  9. I feel the abortion issue gets too much attention.

It's a hot issue since people feel so strongly about it, but if we can resolve to limit the number of abortions but keep them legal, we could focus on issues that have more of a bearing on everyone's day-to-day life.

  10. Mccain thought Palin could steal those old white women who voted hilary instead of Obama.

  11. I still wouldn't vote for her.

The woman is a former beauty queen.  A former sportscaster journalist.

At a time when this country is in pain, we need someone with a brilliant mind to lead this country out of its despair.

She won her governorship position because of the corrupt politicans she ran against.

And governing 9,000 people is not the same as governing 300 million.

There are some deans who govern 9,000 people in their universities.

  12. Your premise is wrong. Palin wasn't picked to draw in Hillary voters. She was picked to draw in Conservatives and moderate Women who don't want to vote for Obama.

  13. Nope if she was pro-choice she won't get my vote. she wouldn't get half of the republican vote. he wanted her to reach out to females. true. he also wanted her to reach to evangelicals and that wouldn't happen if she was pro-choice. he also wanted a canidate with experience.  woman are against Palin because 1. she's not hillary.  they want hillary and that wouldn't make a diffrence if she was pro-choice. Darren ALASKA has 600,000 people or more.

  14. If Palin were not pro life she would not be on the ticket.  She was put on the ticket to draw the evangelicals that put George Bush in the white house.  McCain is smarter than to think that more than a handful of Hillary voters will cross over to the Republican side because a woman is on the ballot.  Its about the evangelicals my friend.  He doesn't want them to stay at home during the election.

  15. She's pro gun, and pro life. Does she know how many children are killed by guns in America each year? I certainly am not anti gun per se, but I think it is kind of hypocritical.

She supports drilling in Alaska. Well goody for her. In the long run, that gets us nowhere. We need alternative renewable resources.

Anyway, my biggest issues with her, and Republicans in general, is the anti abortion, and anti g*y marriage thing. America is about the freedom to chose. What to do with your body, gun ownership, and who to fall in love and make a commitment with. As long as you don't hurt someone else in the process, than it is not the governments business!!!Of course some would argue the abortion thing, hurting someone...

  16. I could care less either way......I'm more pro-choice, but neither affects me, so I don't care.

  17. That is not my only issue with her.  She is just way too conservative period.  My views don't reflect hers.  I don't really care if she is a woman or not.

  18. its a woman's choice why bring more people into this corrupted world

  19. Aside from the pro-life issue... she is for teaching creationism in school. That right there is a vote killer for me. Then she is anti-g*y rights, anti-environment.

She represents everything that I find offensive about the extreme right wingers.
