  1. The belief that the world will end in 2012 is based on superstition and wild speculation based on the Mayan calendar.  Global warming is based on scientific observations.  I don't think you'll find very many people in the world who believe in both, so I think most people would say your question is irrelevant.

  2. It’s because we all want to comfortable when we go!  I’d hate to be a sticky and sweaty when I die… obviously!

  3. Because we have to be afraid of something before we all die.

  4. I, personally, don't believe in global warming. But either way, it's not guaranteed that the world will end on December 21, 2012, and some people don't even think it will anyway, so they continue to strive to "Save the planet".

  5. This has been going on for years. First it was 1984, and now it is 2012. As I have no way of seeing into the future, no one has any clear way of knowing. I do believe that the world will still be here, but we may be conducting business in a different way. Who knows? Maybe Al Gore could advise?

  6. I assure you that we will still be discussing this here on December 22, 2008.

  7. It's not true the world will end on 2012.

This is just some people's interpretation of the Mayan calendar.  It's hardly proof of anything.

  8. Well people have been predicting the end of the world since the time of Christ, it hasn't happened yet. Reminds me of Al Gore's proclamations of the world dying in 10 years, he's been saying that for about 30 years now.

  9. Because "Global Warming" and this Dec. 21 2012 catastrophe are directly correlated with eachother, the alignment is the cause of "global warming", well at the very least the MAIN cause, with man being the second cause. Yes it will happen, but dont believe that anything will happen on Dec. 21, 2012, because the theory says that it will happen over a few years as the Earth enters the galactic plane and is under gravitational stress from the center of te milky way galaxy. Hmmm, sound familiar, "global warming" is supposed to take 50 years to start affecting us, LIE, its happening right now, and will reach its peak in 2012, all those things and more that Al Gore said will happen...will happen, and they will happen starting in 2010, peak in 2012, and calm down by 2014. Governments around the world know this, you know what they do, they  spread ignorance around so that people wont find out the truth that "global warming" is caused by this rare galactic alignment. Wouldnt it be interesting to tell people that "global warming" cant be stopped, but will kill billions along the way, the political thing to do is lie about it, make money by making people believe they can change it. So pretty much politics lies about it, makes money, and de-populates the world, you cant save 7 billion people, so why make people panic when it cant be done. In reality people have less than 4 years  and can hardly do a d**n thing about it but try and survive this ****, while governments around the world keep it a secret, are planning their new world order, and making their riches for the future of their elite society, of course not only elites will survive, but they will be the majority, and they will control the riches of the world by decepction now.

  10. Yeah..and you may be dead tomorrow..does that mean you are going to run around killing people today...cause who cares!!  Right?  The world is not ending in 2012.  Think you need to take a reality pill.

  11. You are right! We should take mother nature for all she worth! gold, trees, oil, Trash mother earth by drinking partying, looting, and burn everthing. Have fun in the last days

  12. lets see, I remember when some tv preacher had the whole world believing the world would end  back in 1978, it didn't. Then there was this big deal in magazines that said 1986 would be the end, yeah, yeah. Look, no one knows when the world will end, so don't worry about it. I do think people should accept some environmental responsibility, ya know - recycle and so fourth.

  13. You know, even if the world is not set to end in 2012, then one would think that we as the human species should re-think and re-learn how to make as little of an impact on the environment. With all the chaos going on in the world concerning oil, it seems as if it is an impossible battle. In this day and age, we use oil for just about everything, from powering our automobiles to lining the inside of a cardboard paper cup. So it is hard to imagine a life without oil and plastics (plastics are derived from petroleum). But if one thinks back not to long ago, we were living without vehicles and also without plastic. And go back just a little further and life was pretty simple in terms of living practices. Eventually we will either run out of oil or more than likely be poisoned by our own emissions b/c the earth is only able to take so much. Then either way, we will either become extinct which would mean the end of the world for the human species, or we would have to revert back to living like our ancestors, unless by some miracle we are able to come up with a way to keep living the way we are now, but without emmiting any type of pollution and that does not seem at all possible.
