For the record here's some of the thing's I would do;

1# One car maximum per family or home owner...and an energy efficent one at that!

2#Alot of you will disagree: Less people less wasted resources..I would put a limit of 2 children per family unless in the case of multiple births...or pay a small tax on extra children. Lowered taxes better quality of life for everyone.

3#Seriously promote the use of solar & wind powered energy.

4# Make recycling the law. Period.

5# Employ people to take care of the enviroment...plant trees etc.

  1. #1 make recycling a law

#2 everyone has to drive a hybrid car

#3 stop cutting down trees unless they cause harm like endangering something or someone

#4  make all kids take public transportation to school instead of seperate cars

#5 highly promote unplugging appliances and using post consumer paper

  2. Definitely less people!!!! I only had one.

I also agree there should be a tax on having more kids. It makes no sense to give them a tax break. For example, the lady down the road has four and complains public schools are too crowded but she pays the same amount of tax I do (property taxes are a big part of what pays for schools and her property tax is about the same as mine - a little less actually). What that works out as is she pays less school taxes and has more kids which add to the "crowding" she complains about.

Math must not have been her area of ability.

  3. Get rid of all the EVIL Corporations

  4. why on Earth( the planet that we live on) limit children

    I would offer people

    never make anybody do something

I would make people get up off of their lazy butts and give them a job

so the people that work can have some more money

tell restaurants to open after all churches get out

    amen

  5. Well i live in Springfield, but im originally from Alaska born and raised, and we keep a pretty clean ecosystem up there, so i would have to say shut down the Alaskan pipe line, we've already had some oil spills and we dont need anymore up there.

Now for the lower 48's ecosystems i would suggest have some kinda "green day" when people all over the US go out and clean up rivers, lakes, parks, forests, camp grounds, exc.

For cars "not to offend" i would have to say alt. fuels, i know electric cars are really good, but i have my dream car, a 95 nissan skyline, and i can convert its engine into a vegitable oil friendly car, but i cant convert it to being an electric car, my point here is that many people have collector cars and there not gonna give them up for anything, so when we all have to start driving eco friendly cars, ill bet youll be seeing people with old cars with upgraded engines.

I like the idea of using wind and solar power energy, with solar energy you wont even have an electricity bill! but i can almost guarantee that in the future if you have solar power you will be taxed because no one is making money off of you.

      I agree with #4

Well in Alaska, my entire family are loggers and have been ever since Ketchikan was founded over 100 years ago, and after they get done cutting down tree's they plant saplings in there place and it really helps the ecosystem in different ways.

Stop industrialized fishing! in Alaska the salmon runs and many other fish species are starting to disappear, i say if you want some fish for dinner, go catch one with a fishing pole, ive always had to.

Well thats all i gotta say ^^

  6. I couldn't agree with you more! Tons of people are going to respond and say "Oh we can't do this or that!" etc etc.

The bottom line is, we have to do SOMETHING, or you won't LIVE to see the world anymore. As simple as that. Look at how messed up the weather is this year ALREADY. If you don't see Global Warming is here, then I feel sorry for you...

I do like how grocery stores are supplying cloth bags now. I only use cloth bags now. I recycle all the time. As much as I possibly can. I went to my states gov website for transportation and found out I can take a shuttle bus (a nice clean one!) to my job! I drive 5 mins now instead of an hour (rush hour causes this, normally it is 30 mins), saving me money on gas, car repairs, oil changes, etc. I would love to purchase an energy efficient vehicle! I agree completely with having only two children. Our world is becoming way too over populated. Why do you need more than 2 children anyways? It's too hectic and expensive.

  7. #3, #4 and #5

  8. I would take goverment regulation out of the picture.  If governments did not impose laws and regulation, the price of gasoline would be higher (and oil companies would not be protected).  The true capitalist system would fall in place.  There would be a sharp rise in fossil fuels and an immediate demand from the public for alternative energies.

  9. i would make electonic cars cheeper so that we would not have to drive the cars that we have right now so if we getrid of the cars we would getrid of oil and if we getrid of oil we will not have no ocean ploshionand from oil spills.

  10. make recycling free or give incentives to do so. If we can get money for cans we should find a way to pay people and pick the cans up from their home. A lot less trash. Or charge people for the trash they are too lazy tor recycle. Make all  cars hybrids and sell them for the same price.

  11. 3. and I might also take the environment out to a nice dinner, with champagne and flowers. that would be nice.

  12. I would introduce a heavy tax on fuel like in Britain where its sumthin like 75p a litre not a gallon, a litre is tax ( average price per litre is £1.05 a litre)

Then put a heavy road tax on 4x4's that arent hybrids

    Increase tax on buying 4x4's

Relax planning laws for renewable energy

Encourage farmers to produce biofuel crop

    Tax heavy polluting companies

Offer grants to companies going green

    Ban un-energy efficent light bulbs

Make recycling the law and introduce fines for people not sticking to the rules

Make double glazing, energy efficent boilers the law, loft insulation has to be put in new houses, and offer grants to people willing to do this

In the deserts build hude solar farms

    Start carbon off setting

    Introduce green housing

    Thats just a taster lol

  13. #2 wouldn't really work, look at china.  China has a one child restriction but the population is still growing.

Anyway back to topic, I would fund millions and millions towards environmental research.  Build tons of solar cell where it is hot built tons of windmill (whatever they are) alone the coast.   I think that's a bit like #3

Get people to watch the lorax by Dr suess (it does have a important message)

promote vegetarianism.  About 85% of agriculture land is taken up by livestock.  Methane is the second most enviromentally damaging GHG.  The amount of water to feed a cow is the amount of water you use to shower for one year.

  14. I also totally agree. We need to do much more.

    Seriously increase recycling.

Ban 4wd gas-gusslers except to farmers who really need them! Limit power of other cars to say 2 litres. Controversial I know.

On renewable energy Portugal is aiming for 45-50%: The UK - a measly 10%.

Large scale tree planting to replace at least some of those lost. The deforestation of areas like the Amazon and the Far East will have a dramatic effect on future weather patterns unless replaces. We have to stop 'slash and burn'

Control population growth: China already limits families to 2 children. Other countries should follow suit.

Make altenative fuels for cars more readily available.

    Just a few!

  15. stop cutting down trees

  16. I wouldn't put limits on automobile ownership, but I would put a tax on "gas guzzler" vehicles. That would encourage economics to drive fuel efficiency.

Get the government involved in more research of alternative energy technologies with the goal of driving down costs for alternative energy technologies. Examples could be lowering the cost of production for solar PV panels, lower alcohol production costs, cheaper wind power, etc.

Provide tax incentives for renewable energy sources; and add taxes to non-renewable and dirty energy sources.

Encourage plug-in hybrid technology and its use as backup generation for the national electric grid. I.e. Charge the plug-in car when energy is cheap, but credit the owner when energy is expensive or in short supply and actually draw from a plugged in car when economic or supply needs arise. Imagine your Prius is your homes backup generator.

An important goal should be to drive the country away from dependence on foreign oil in general; and non-renewable energy and dirty energy sources.

I like the idea to increase recycling, but how about we take it further so that all food packaging must be recyclable as well as providing universal recycling across the country?

How about government incentives in investment in lower water use such as low-water use toilets, dishwashers, showerheads, faucet aerators, clothes washers, etc? Further mandates for lower water use in all categories could be proposed. Also, mandating that grass and plants be used in new construction that require less water. (In Florida it is common to include Floritam grass that require a great deal of water for it to live and prosper. There are less beautiful alternative grasses such as Bahia grass that require much less water)

How about a tax break for every 6 foot tall tree planted in a homeowners yard?

Mandate wild areas be set aside for every new land development. Perhaps banking these wild areas so that many development projects could contribute to the set-aside of wild parks.

I could go on, but this is a good start......

  17. I agree 1 to 5, and my most important objective will be to end the aggressive politics against other countries, like Iraq and others right now.

  18. 1# 25% of new vehicles sold in U.S.A. would be Electric and Plug-in Hybrids by 2009.  50% by 2010.  This would reduce oil comsuption almost by half;  Lower the price of oil;  Lower the trade deficit and Increase the value of the dollar; Lower manufactory and delevery cost.

2# No state solar panel rebates, This keeps the price of solar panels higher than the rebate and keeps non rebate state residents from buying over priced solar panels

3#  Federal tax rebates for solar panels and wind generators on residental housing.

4# Trash burning electric generators.  Can't be worse than coal and keeps landfills down.  Recycle obvious stuff.  metels and plastics.

5# all oil taken out of federal ground through resource rights will not be sold for more than $30 per barrel after 2010.

6# Raise taxes on gas in 2010 and out law foreign oil.
