IF there was a new cold war what side would Japan be on?

I am not japanese i like Japan I am just wondering Would Japan be good or bad As well I want to know all the the sides of all the countries Who would side with England or Us and who would aid Russia?

I think Japan would stay out of it as long as it could...Russia took land, but we Dropped the first nuclear bombs on them and we actually still have a military presence there...

I think Japan would shock us all and side with the martians.

Ours. Japan would get the pointy end of the missiles from Communist countries like N. Korea and China. They also have long running feuds with the former USSR now Russia.

If the main sides were Russia and US, I think Japan would fall on the side of the US, as would most of Europe. I think their inherent anti-Americanism (and their mutual oil interests) would put most of the Middle East on the side of Russia. The UK would also be on the US side I think. The PRC would be a wild card, and I think it will try to stay out of it.

It's a silly question. The US has a treaty with Japan wherein the US military agrees to protect Japan if attacked. Japan has absolutely no reason, tactically or economically, to stray from its alliance with the US. If anything, a resurgence in Russian influence in the region should make them stronger allies, not weaker ones.

Remember that Russia is still occupying islands they stole from Japan after WWII.  

Japan is rather annoyed about being the victims of a Russian land grab.

Russia and Japan - against US and UE

Russia will give in a present for Japaneses of a bit nuclear weapon, and also - as a gesture of good (when Japan will sink under influence of earthquakes, eruptions of volcanos, tsunami and anger of goddess of Amaterasu) - South Sakhalin, all Kuril islands, and also Aleutian islands, Hawaii and island Japonsky in a gulf of Sitka (Alaska).  

We will let for the Japanese fishermen without difficulty to fish in our seas (abandoning us the half of catch, certainly) and together with us to obtain oil and gas in Siberia, on island Sakhalin and in Alaska.  And yet we will allow them to cut down our Tongass forest in Alaska.

Then Japan will become the best a friend and military partner of Russia against hegemony USA and their allies  on the Pacific. Away the American nuclear missiles from territory of Japan! Beikoku desu ni hantai!

We will give Japan nucleaar missiles, but we will heed, that Japan did not begin (without our permission) thermonuclear war against the USA, in order that to punish yankees for nuclear bombardment of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, for disgrace of sunny emperor Hirohito, occupation and humiliation of Japan during more than 60 years.

Russia and Japan will be friends forever! And when Japan will sink wholly, we together will take Alaska, California, Peru, Australia and NZ and will recover the great Japanese empire in the Pacific. Russia is the best friend and brother of Japan and all oppressed people of the world!
