  1. I am pretty sure it is 4 months

  2. a very long time cause they want to spend some of it for themselves

  3. well if they decide not to take it for themselves and spend it on random things then it will take about 65 to 90 days for them to return it. the odds of someone coming back to get the money is 1:10000 depending on the sum of money.

  4. 90 days

  5. It can vary but you will usually find it's around 3 months to allow the person that lost the item (including cash) to make a report, and for the Police to attempt to locate the owner etc.

If no-one claims it after this time the property Sergeant will arrange for State revnue to mail you out a cheque. That could take some time though.

The Police don't keep the money themselves even if you don't claim it as it goes to State Treasury.
