what would that make you think/feel?

Im watching the zeitgeist movie, and while i think it has good points about religion.....im not really buying the whole 9/11 conspiracy.

Im from the UK but have a lot of relatives in the US, and the 9/11 thing really upset and troubled me! and i have always believed, and alwats will believe it was a terrorist attack.

but......lets just say hypothetically we got evidence and found out it WAS something to do with the government. what effect do you think it would have on the world?

I personally think it would be catastrophic! God knows what would happen! what do you think?

  1. There would be civil war and blood in the streets, do you really want that. Alex Jones is a kook

  2. The first third of Zeitgeist was wonderful, accurate, and much needed.

The rest is conspiracy-theory nutjobbery wrapped up in a very polished--and therefore credible-looking--package.

I know it's more comforting to believe that our government has so much control that a small group of pissed-off fundies could never cause such catastrophic damage to our civilization.  I know the idea of an evil shadow-government who wants to control your brain somehow feels less dangerous to the 9/11 "truthers" than the real truth of a near-bronze age society having the organizational ability and the motivation to fly planes into our buildings.  But the real "truth" is that religion makes people do f-ing insane things, and that the 9/11 attacks were a well planned, well coordinated attack from a religious group, for religious reasons, and that we were vulnerable because we got too secure in our power.

(This is not directed at you; obviously your head is screwed on straight and you've reasoned out the truth.  This is directed at the people who will invariably answer that it was a "false flag" attack.)

(By the way, it would be foolish to deny that the Bush administration TURNED it into a false flag and used it as their much-desired excuse to invade Iraq.  But that doesn't mean that the Bush administration planned it or carried it out in the first place.)

  3.    going along with your hypothetical. First, there would be endless hearings in Congress. With people scrambling to cover their butts or gain political leverage. Second, some sort of special taskforce would be empowered, and criminal action would be taken against whoever could be found to be involved. As it would come under federal statutes, any convictions would potentially lead to executions within a few years after the conviction. Third, any military people involved would find themselves facing courts-martial, with potential execution coming even quicker. Fourth, it might provide the opportunity for a viable third party to emerge. Both the democrats and republicans would be tarred by their failures to prevent terrorism, or even participating in it. Some politicos would be lucky not to be strung up by the nearest lamposts. Fifth, the biggest fallout would be from our allies. They would have to be even more distrustful of us than they are now. (only an idiot trusts an ally implicitely). Our enemies would simply use the situation to make propoganda, but since they already have been pushing alternate conspiracy theories to the 9/11 attacks, it wouldn't make much difference there. And on the plus side for the US, it would have to make our enemies pause for just a moment. A nation, or rulers who would kill thousands of their own for a supposed political gain(I've yet to see where 9/11 has benefited anyone that way) is an opponant to be feared. After all, if you will kill your own, how much more readily will you kill those who are not?

All hypothetical of course. I don't buy into the conspiracy. The intellegence community's habit of compartmentilization, the lack of imagination, and sheer bad luck explain 9/11 far better than any supposed government conspiracy.

  4. interesting theory

i've got one of my own -

9/11  (or 11/9 as we should insist on calling it - if you're a fellow brit)

was caused by passing martian invasion fleets on their way to the planet of HERAKLION 3 - long reign zooberon - queen of the galgameks

  5. Well, first and foremost I'd lose most of my love for the USA. The main reason why I love the USA is because I see the Americans as some of the most patriotic, strong and united people in the world. (I'm from the UK too).

So, if it was the government that would completely and utterly destroy that picture I have of them. 9/11 as well as 7/7 really effected me in a big way, really made me think and review my life. You should watch the movie United Flight 93, it's really sad. I cried loads. But its something that really everyone needs to see. I've watched a good few movies based on 9/11 and I think its something everyone needs to be aware of.

But I'm sorry, I'm going off the point here. If this was to happen, the world would use any respect it has for the Americans.

But like you, I'll never believe that it was anything but a terrorist attack unless there's some good evidence to suggest so.

Terrorism is a really big problem for both us, the UK and Israel too. And I think we all need to be united.

The fact is, there are very disturbing videos on youtube of the Palestinian people celebrating in the streets because of 9/11. They passed out candy to the children, had fireworks, music, dancing. I thought it was disgusting. Here's the video>>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrM0dAFsZ...

Lets hope for world peace one day and no more terrorist attacks

    on our countries! :D

  6. not buying the whole 9/11 conspiracy..watch this series of videos..and it will confirm it for you....however I want to be clear...I don't believe that our President...George Bush had anything to do with it, or rather..I don't believe he was the main person behind it, I don't think he is clever enough to do so.....however...I fully believe those surrounding the president are more than clever enough to pull it off.

here is the video..there are like...18 or 19 to watch, when you have a chance be sure to watch all of them..let me know what you think.

  7. betrayed but i dont believe it.....SEE POLITICS...

  8. I think that most of the people are already blinded by the Gov. and wouldn't give it much thought......for long anyhow.

There are greater forces at work than what most think.  Personal opinion :  Indeed there is a conspiracy.  And MUCH deeper than most can imagine...

  9. I would not be surprised because the conspiracy theorists have a good motive. 9/11 is a way for the US citizens to voluntarily give up their rights for protection, and this gives the government control over the country. But I don't think that Mr. Bush is smart enough to whip up such a catastrophic plan. I wouldn't be surprised if he was in on it, or if there was some type of warning given to the US from the terrorists. But, that's what the government wants. They don't want us to know.

  10. Go back to the Daily Kos site, those people love that sort of ridiculous conspiracy stuff.

The thing that is catastrophic is your willingness to be sucked in by idiocy.

  11. Hypothetically;

We shall not let their lives be in vain. Let their sacrifice inspire our commitment to recall our troops, rebuild our communities, restrain the natural resource destruction, redesign the foreign policy to promote trade, retire the internal combustion engine for personal transportation, end the corporate control of political lawmakers, end genetic modification, test for mad cow in all US herds, end compulsory vaccination, curtail the sales of prescription medication via FCC media, and in print, teach the facts in public school, with the best writers, (not memorize and spit testing).

Edit: Add decriminalize narcotics and cannabis, and release non violent drug offenders from incarceration. Increase the use of palliative care on the European/UK model.

  12. I would be impressed that anyone in the government was smart and competent enough to pull it off (which is the reason I know the government could not possibly have been involved).

  13. I was right with you until "God knows what would happen!" Now I think that your hypothetical question isn't worth bothering an answer to, except to get those "coveted" 2 points.

Next time leave the non-existent Christian "God" out of the equation, and we can talk, okay?

  14. You know it ALL that the government and your agencies did it. you don't want to open your eyes even you have seen you many facts about it. there wont be any civil war. there will be nothing happening. your governments both UK and America wanted to create a reason to attack Afghanistan which they did, like they are trying to create a reason to attack Pakistan. like they created a reason to attack Iraq. and you still expect the Muslims not to shout. not to cry when you kill our brothers and fathers and when your army men rape our mothers and sisters in front of our eyes. this is all injustice. which your cant see through the eyes of BBC and CNN. you know what your media tells you and your governments. you don't want to look beyond that. this is the problem with these two nations. this is why you are the most uninformed people on the face of the earth. Americans and the British.

but we still pray the may God show you the right path and bless you with his mercy.

  15. The only way we can even consider this is hypothetically!

I know it's easier and more fun to believe that America is the big bad meanie. All that is evil and vile is America rounded up into one big red Republican basket.

BUT...did Clinton fake the bombing of the USS Cole?

Or the bombing of the Kenya Embassy's?

Did he fake the first attack on the Twin Towers?

I mean we've had this problem for a while you know.

Care to add those details in your little story?

  16. Zeitgeist makes some interesting but fairly unsupportable claims about religion.  For instance, it is common knowledge that pagan holidays were "re-purposed" by the early church as a method of getting new converts.  The connection between Mythas and early Christianity is speculation and needs verifiable evidence.

The rest of zeitgeist is complete bollocks.  There is no way that the government could pull off 9/11 without it rapidly becoming widespread knowledge.

  17. It wasn't planned by or government...they however knew in advance and did nothing to stop it from happening.

  18. i don't need to find out.i already know it was planned by the government to attack Afghanistan and iraq.iraq because the government wanted oil.

  19. I don;t think it was the government, I think it was the alluminati or freemasons or skull in bones within th e government that did it, my husband thinks it was the goverment and the terrorist togther, my question is, why hasn;t Asama Bin Laden come forward to say anything, or the terrorist that are suppose to stil be alive???

And did you here the conspiracy theroy about a rocket, not  aplane that was suppose to hit the pentagon?

  20. I'm sorry to say this, but I would be surprised but not shocked.

  21. Personally I think Osama Bin Laden attacked us because the Bush family wanted him to. Remember these people in power are friends of the Bin Laden family.

  22. The painful thing is, that there was undoubtedly inside collusion and facilitation.

The majority who have looked at it independently know that now, and the main discussion is about what will happen when it is fully public, and how to manage it. there's a lot of prominent established scientists and politicians who are starting to talk about that aspect, which you ask about. It will cause chaos when it comes out "offficially", it is already out "unofficially".

Recently an Arizona Senator, Karen Johnson has spoken out, she had known for a long time, but it was only when she got attacked by a newspaper for her views, that it got into the mainstream.

Interestingly she is a Republican, and many of the doubters are Republican free thinkers.

There's hours of broadcast from 911 doubters, but as an example I link to her interview about it.

Edit. Although most on the religion forum don't believe the insider story, it's pretty even 50/50 if you ask that question in current affairs, or politics and government. That's quite interesting in itself

  23. Conspiracy theorists are renowned for being paranoid. If it was true, it would be time for the people to take back the government.

Question things, but don't be too paranoid. Alex Jones and David Icke are whack!

However, Rumsfeld did say flight 93 was shot down.

  24. I'd be shocked, and I'm betting president Bush would get shot. (yay)

People would be enraged and there would be riots and fights on the streets.

  25.
