what are the similarities and diffrence of each book?

they both tell about the hardships of the young girls (the people who is talking thru the whole book)

to kill a mockingbird and i know why the caged bird sings are both have the narrator as a young girl (in to kill a mockingbird scout, and in i know why the caged bird sings, maya). they both involve a trial of a rape.

Both books deal with the evils of racism in the South during the 1940's and '50's.  Why the Caged Bird Sings is the biography of Maya Angelou and is, therefore, a true story.  To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel.  The main characters of both stories are little girls, but Maya Angelou was black and Scout Finch was white.
