  1. What business?  Target the type of business you'd like to be in and approach the business owner, asking for a few minutes of his/her time and explaining what you'd like to discuss.  Be prepared to set an appointment time to come back -- then keep the appointment.  Be EARLY, and look professional -- in fact, dress professionally when making your initial contact (if made in person) so that you are ready if they have time on the spot.  Take notes, and FOLLOW UP with a hand written thank you note for their time.  But, before ending your interview, ask for referrals to other business owners/persons -- then keep networking.  Introduce yourself to these new contacts, using the original contact's name... that will help open the door for you.

    Good luck!

  2. yes

  3. Call a local business, ask for the owner or manager and see if they will give you a time to stop by for 15 min or so.  Tell them what you want and if the interview is for a school paper say that, if it is so you can learn more about the world of buisiness say that.   You may get a couple of turn downs but most will be friendly and happy to talk about themselves and their business.  Another possibility is to just ask the owner or manager of a place you eat or your insurance agent or some other place you or your family do business with.  If you mean some Fortune 100 company (huge business like Microsoft) call the nearest local office and ask to speak with the regional or area manager.
