  1. if you got a backboard at home, get a piece of chalk and go outside and jump and put a mark on the backboard. Keep trying to beat your mark. This helps me quite a bit. Like you i am 16 but i'm 5'11 bout 160 so its different but try it anyway


  2. make sure that you always warm up before exercising and you can start by doing squats not even with wait until you become comfortable with the tecnique make sure you go down as far as possible and keep your back straight  also you can stand on the edge of something like a step and then you flex your calves so you can go on your toes and remember that you wont get immediate results so you just have to keep at it

  3. vertical is measured via explosiveness and strength.

    you can train explosiveness with plyometrics (such as jump rope, ankle jumps, etc) basically exercises that use your own body weight to work.

    strength... is obviously weights. hit the gym and do squats, deadlifts, calf raises, etc *SQUATS ARE THE KING OF VERTICAL TRAINING*

    the most important part of your vertical is your quad and hamstring... your calf and your upper body is involved but isnt a big factor that'll affect your vertical. make sure you do the workouts efficiently and properly or you wont get good results

    and i hope you arnt hoping to get results quick.. quick as in 1 month.... my 1st month i barely got any vertical but its been a year now for me and ive got a nice 33 inch vert (was 24inch)

    than again i didnt focus entirely on increasing my vert

    so have fun  and stay confident
