IM GOING BY LAND NOT AIR I READ THIS IN INTERNET IS THIS TRUE?New Passport Requirements Coming in January

Beginning on January 23, 2007, all people traveling by air from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to have a passport in order to enter the United States. A second phase of passport requirements will apply to land and sea travelers, beginning as early as January 2008.

SO TILL JAN 2008 I DONT NEED PASSPORT RIGTH THANKS 4 UR HELP

  1. as long as you have a form of ID you should be okay until january; but not a good idea to travel without passport


  2. Here is an ACCURATE  answer.  You do not need a passport for LAND travel to and from Mexico until after SUMMER 2008.  See website below and read the tpo half of the page carefully for the CURRENT announcement from the state dep't.  Paaaports are required now to FLY to and from Mexico.

    Most of my American friends (living here in Mexico) have gone to the American Consulate closest to them and have gotten a passport for any future travel back to the USA.
