  1. Don't take any meds, at least not until you talk to your doctor!

Are you stressed? Did you have trouble sleeping before the pregnancy? It could just be that you have a lot on your mind right now due to the pregnancy. I know I've had a few nights like that lol. If you are feeling sick and that is causing you not to sleep, try eating small meals during the day but then nothing expect water within a couple hours of when you plan to go to bed.

Hope that helps and def talk to your doctor about your problems. Good luck!

  2. as far as i know you aren't supposed to take any meds

  3. You're holding your tension, you just need some help to release it.  Don't take meds, you won't get good quality sleep anyway.

I would recommend a reputable chiropractor (a holistic one if possible).  If you're not comfortable with that, then a massage from a licensed massage therapist.  Get one in the late afternoon and my bet is you'll go right to sleep when you get home and sleep through to the next morning.

Good luck, sweetheart.  It's not an easy time.

  4. This all depends - ask your doctor- I was taking medication BEFORE I got pregnant with my daughter, which helped me to sleep, and the doctor/Midwife said, in my case, because I was taking it BEFORE I was pregnant, that it was OK.  I would STRONGLY suggest you ask the doctor BEFORE taking ANYTHING though.  And you don't say WHY you're not sleeping - stress, worry about the pregnancy, happiness about the pregnancy, or maybe you have some other medical problem - or maybe you're just not comfortable while sleeping?  Change the pillows?  Do you have pain anywhere?  Try to fix your pillows so you'll be more comfortable.  They sell pregnancy pillows that are full body pillows.  Maybe that'll work for you if that's your problem?  You need to expand your question and explain WHY you're not sleeping and how many months you are, etc.  GOOD LUCK!

  5. i'm not sure if you can while pregnant by i use these

    calcium vitamin at night

    and licorice root tea

the tea works better though, but no sugar or honey

maybe try sleeping in a different location like instead of the bed the sofa for a night and see if the location change helps any.

  6. There is a short list of things you can take when you are pregnant, so you should ask your OB. The only thing I can think of is Ambien and you can only get that with a prescription.
