  1. Remain Pure Veg non alchoholic completely and don't take the association of people who drink and think alchohol solves all their problems. They can fool themselves for sometime until they realize that it is becoming the cause of all their problems.

    Do you get colds or do you feel cold.? In either way, warm up with warm healthy drinks and foods which won't give you liver and brain damage like alchohol will.

    You're name is Krishna Murthy? Then you must know about Ayurveda. If you're in india then the ayurveda clinics can give very nice warming oil treatments and good medicines for your immune system etc. In winter I rub mustard oil on my body as do many Indian folk.  And drink spice teas with honey. Get plenty of exercise in winter to keep warm. If you're in the west then check out a health food shop for all the good things for preventing colds like echinacea and vitamin supplements. See a Naturopth or herbalist for good remedies. Or read a herb book.

    The thing about rum is it makes people's bodies numb. I rememeber how one famous singer died. He drank too much and fell asleep in a car, overnight, not feeling the bitter cold of an english winter. But that cold killed him.

    And he's not the only one. It's a drastic measure for a normal bodily functions such as heat and cold.

    Use natural remedies wisely!

  3. Soluble vitamin c every morning will help give your immune system a boost. That helps me anyway. Also, try and substitute your diet so that you get the same nutrients that are in meat. Do you eat eggs? They're a good source of protein, mushrooms have lots of iron and so do lentils. Do you drink coffee? Too much coffee can also bring down your immune system so if you're like me and are obsessed with coffee you might want to have a little detox one weekend and drink decaf and tea for a while to give your body a chance to catch up. Also have a chat to your doctor, pharmacist or a nutritionist... they're always full of helpful advice. :) Hope this helps a bit.

  4. Alcoholic drinks such as rum would not help even if you could drink them.  Alcohol reduces resistance to illnesses.

    You must be short of some essential vitamins because of your diet.  Vitamin C is the most obvious one.  Do you eat enough citrus fruit?

    I think the best thing is to get some dietry advice on the correct vitamin supplements for your diet.

    120mg with ciplox 500 mg if you are above 18 years above.

  9. Do you mean you get a cold (runny nose etc) or that you feel cold?  

    Rum will not help with either problem.  Vegans can have problems with lack of vitamin B12 which is only found in animal based foods and with lack of iron.   See your doctor to review your diet, blood tests and therapy.

  10. dont start drinking rum or brandy, u will get addicted to it and after that it stop effecting your colds. The best way is to go to a good hemoepath and get regular treatment of your cold problem. homeopathy is very effective, but it takes quite some time depending upon how long u had this problem. But, beleive me, it works as it did in my case ( it took about 4 years and now no problems even after 20 years.

  11. Instead of rum, you can have a try with Vitamin 'C' rich fruit drinks.

  12. MMM, MAYBE YOUR NOT GETTING ENOUGH VITAMIN C, ASK YOUR CHEMIST WHAT EXTRA VITAMINS HE/SHE THINKS WOULD HELP.
