  1. don't you have a basement to go too stay down to the lows place  stay calm dint go by electric applices maybe the bedroom would be better hope you well if you can when it is calm leave to shelter area we live in earthquake areas

  2. Tornados from Tropical Storms seldom stay on the ground for very long, & they're just as rarely very strong... Just go into your Bathroom; get into your Tub or Shower... -& "hang out" for 15 minutes or so... Odds are, you'll be Alright... :)

  3. 40mph? heck its that here in CA and its just rattling the windows a bit. Quit having a fit where are your folks? They should be taking care of you that is their job!

  4. close ad lock all of the windows and doors....then lay in the bathtub....its the most sturdy place in ur house

  5. Agree. If you don't have a basement, get in the bathtub and cover your heads. A mattress would be great if you can lift it. Otherwise blankets, pillows, etc.

(I'm in Nebraska; quite familiar with the sirens...)

  6. I think a lot of the answerers misunderstood you. The tornado is moving at 40 MPH, but the actual winds in the tornado can be much higher.

Just get in to the room with the LEAST windows with as many pillows as you can and possibly a mattress. Cover your head. Luckily, tornadoes spawn by hurricanes tend to be very weak and short lived.

I live in Kissimmee and I heard tornado is long gone. I hope you are alright!

  7. Get a mattress and get under it in the bathtub unless you have a basement

  8. The bathroom is the safest place in the house.  Although I hear the tropical storm is most likely going to turn into a hurricane.  At the moment, 40MPH winds are nothing to worry about if they pick up you could be in trouble.  I would tack up some blankets on the windows to the bathroom though if that is where you are going to hide out.
