why is it that whenever i search on wireshark i only get my signal and no others ? i have installed winpcap , i see other wireless's but it doesnt show up on wireshark

If you're on a switch port, you'll only see unicast and broadcast traffic, not all traffic.  Hubs rebroadcast ALL traffic out every port, switches learn what hosts are on a giving port and only send traffic destine for that host, and broadcast/multicast traffic.  If you're on a Cisco switch, look into SPAN.

You need to be in 'Promiscuous Mode' to see all of the traffic on your subnet.  It's a checkbox in one of the setup dialogs.
