My iMac is in good condition and I still have 310.48 GB Hard Drive space left, it's not got any viruses and is up to date, but on 2 occasions when its on sleep and I return it doesn't wake, it's actually shutdown, and I have to switch it on again???? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

  1. when you put it on sleep, do you just tap the button at the back of the computer?

    don't actually hold it down.

it could also be a fault, or a user problem look around the user problems otherwise you can choose something to put it into sleep by putting the cursor into one of the corners ( once you have set it to do that)

that way it sleeps without having to have the problem with

    it switching off

    hope this helps

  2. I've heard of some problems, though not sure if it was the same as yours. I don't know what OS version you have or what processor, but it's worth checking the discussion forums and tech support at the Apple site. Also find the following files in your main (not user) directory and remove them, then restart (which will force the iMac to recreate them)

    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfigurati...

    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfigurati...

    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.system...

You can also try resetting the PMU/SMC - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1543?viewl...
