IN A 29 GALLON FISH TANK?

I HAVE A HEATER BUT IT ONLY HAS SIGNS AS PLUS OR MINUS.IF I PUT THE HEATER UP ALL THE WAY WILL IT DRASTICALLTY GO UP.I ONLY NEED IT TO GO UP ABOUT 3-4 DEGREES.ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ADVICE CAN HELP.ITS A 100 WATT.

  1. you will have to get a tank thermometer, then gradually turn up the heater a Little at a time leaving it for about an hour between each raise in temperature checking the thermometer to see if you need to raise the temperature again


  2. Just move it up a little.not all the way.Try buying one of those stick on thermometers that stick to the outside glass. They only cost about 2 dollars. Or, if you really know what your doing put an oral baby thermometer in the tank,,but hold it there for three minutes and compare what the readings are.

It depends on your fish but since im assuming they are tropicals 100 watt is not enough for a 29 gallon tank the minumum is about 150-175 watt so go ahead and put the heater as high as you can. if you just need the water to go 3-4 degrees celcius then put it max if you need it fareignheit leave it.
