IN ATLANTA, WHaT DOES " COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS " MEAN ?

I hear a lot of rappers from ATL say that in their songs, so what does it mean ?

I means, be thankful for what you have because at some point it could all be taken away.  You know how everything is going so well and then all of the sudden out of no where tragedy may strike.  

An example may be that you've purchased a home, it took you a while to furnish it but now you are set.  In a matter of months time, your house catches on fire and everything that you had I suddenly gone- but you're still alive.  Although you are sad for your home, you are glad that you are still have your life.
