iv got a standard 1.2 corsa c apart from a nice dear sony sterio.

I want a decent sound system but i dont really know much about it, iv got around £200 to spend.

My friends have 6x9s, sub woofers and amps and some sound good and some dont, i dont really want to spend and it not sound good :(

I think its best when its crystal clear, loud ish (quite allot louder than standard), and the bass is very distinctive.

If anyne could help or point me in the right direction me id be really greatful cheers!

  1. strip it all out do the ferrari minimal thing no radio just steering wheel and seat

  2. get a new receiver, many sony stereos dont have AV outputs to plug in amps, I bought a pioneer receiver , a pair of pioneer speakers, get a pioneer amp and a kicker sub it would boom the streets

  3. Replace the stock c**p speakers in the front in the door for some Pioneer TS G1342R and put a  Pyle  PLA2580 CAR AMP 2 X 1200W MOSFET in the trunk or under the drivers seat then hook up a DEH-P980BT CD/MP3/WAV With Bluetooth Receiver deck through a few subs where ever you like and wire it up and rock

  4. If I were you I would stick to the stock sizes and locations for the front. Being that this sounds like your first install.

I wouldn't bother replacing the back speakers. They should only account for about twenty percent of the sound. The best audio systems are made to recreate live audio. How often do you go to a concert and sit with your back to the stage?

In a car that small. You could get away with one good ten inch or 12 inch sub in a good ported enclosure. If you like it a little bass heavy you can go with two ten inch subs. When your shopping for subs look for a few key features to keep the quality up. Look for Dual voice coils, Rubber surrounds and cones that aren't made of paper. A few good brands to look for are JL audio, Kicker, Digital Designs, and Fi Audio.

When It comes to amps. Look for a Mono Class d Amp for the sub system. Try to find an amp that will power your subs to about 80-90% of their capacity. For the front look for an amp that is 4 channels and that that will power the front to again about 80-90% capacity.

I saved this part for last. Because it is the most important part. The wiring. Your main power to the back should be the biggest you can afford. This is the only place in an audio system that I tell people to go overkill. Stick to at least 4 gauge. For the subs use anything from 8 - 14 gauge, depending on the power and the distance from the amplifier.

I know all this can get very confusing. But, the best way to learn is to do. Take your time. Pick up a few trade mags. You can learn a lot from them. also i will provide a few links to get you started.

Whatever you do Don't buy PYLE audio. Or, Anything with a half naked woman in the ad. s*x sells a lot of c**p. Good equipment doesn't need this marketing scheme.
