At the end when Daniel tells Eli that he gave the money to Paul, $10,000. Was that a lie...? Just wanted to break Eli completely? Thanks.

No... Paul only asked for a certain amount. He raised it by a hundred dollars when Day-Lewis tried to trick him.

He wasn't greedy like Eli.

Day-Lewis' character just wanted to break Eli doown like Eli did to him in the church.

hmm, it was $5000 that paul wanted wasnt it. Daniel was such an evil, selfish character that I guess it just felt good for him to ruin ely that bit more before bludgeoning him to death.

No, He did give it to Paul. He gave it because Paul came early on and told him where the "Primetime" Drilling location is for 10,000. The location was at Elis Land.
