I am developing shin splints and because of this I am unable to run and prepare for my upcoming Cross Country season. I would hate to get out of shape and lose fitness..I figure my options are ..a.) water runningb.) Bike c.) Ellipticald.) swimmingThe only problem is I really don't like water running because it doesn't raise your heart beat enough. and to get into a pool every day would cost to much money. The only thing that i have easy and free access are the bike and elliptical.so I guess what I'm asking is which one would be better in preparing me for cross country between the bike and elliptical? Our districts which is our big race is in early to mid november..Will I not be as successful by that time if Im doing cross training instead of running for a few weeks or possibly a month or so?
