Question:

INSTANT domestication if WILD ANIMALS?

I was thinking maybe if somehow you could zap away at the part of the brain that controls aggressive behaviour you could instantly domesticate a wild animal like a tiger or a lion or panther. Could such thing be possible? Just crack open the skull and zap at the area that controls aggressive behavior or fighing instincts. And probably you could remove the adrenal gland to tame it even more.

  1. See buddy its not that easy as in writing. First of all scientist havent studied much about the brain of the animals and they yet not finished with Humans so its not possible at present scenario. But may be some day this will happen as science is moving at a very rapid speed.

  2. what you r thinking of is not domestication but taming. Taming involves making a single animal controllable by man. This in itself has been done countless times using almost every major group of mammal and bird, especially big cats such as tigers, lions, jaguars and leopards.

Domestication means to cultivate a population, usually related, that is controllable, at least to sum degree, by humans. This submissive or co-operative feature is passed on hereditarily from parent to offspring, but this is not true for taming. So a tamed animals offspring would need to be tamed again with no decrease in the amount of time or effort it took to tame its parent. But the offspring of domesticated parents would have a genetic dispostion to be submissive or co-operative.
