what kind of questions would you ask a client if you were designing their bedroom? and getting to know them.. and have a feel for them?

I WOULD ASK THEM THE AMOUNT OF TIME THEY SPEND IN THEIR BEDROOM.

DO THEY NEED IT TO BE A FUNCTIONAL SPACE OR A RELAXING SPACE, AFTER A LONG DAY.

ASK ABOUT THEIR STYLE, MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY WITH SIMPLE CLEAN LINES, [PIER ONE, IKEA] ,TRADITIONAL WITH MOLDINGS AND MORE ORNATE FURNISHINGS, [ETHAN ALLEN]

are you asking because you have a job and you don't know where to start?

If that is the case, you should be honest and charge accordingly.

Take a portfolio full of magazine pictures of bedrooms of various styles and ask them to pick a couple they like best and ask them what exactly they like about it and what do they not really like.

Then do the same thing with paint colours.  Give them 10 or 12 colurs and ask them to pick their favorite.  Not that that will be the colour of their room, but it will give you a very good idea of what they are looking for.

the questions asked by me would be:

what colour combination they would prefer, how is their taste (simple, normal or goddy).

from these two things i come to know what kind of personality they have ie if the prefer say white or say cool colours they are peace loving  and need a simlpe decor not very jazzy kind of thing.

and yes getting to know them to an extend like about the emotional attachment with the things, etc.
