  1. My cousin went to an international school in Shanghai, China and she says really enjoyed it (ended up getting into Harvard). From what she told me, it's very similar to school in the states and the social life is excellent. She too was very against the idea at first, but after a year there she's had a change of heart. You will get to meet people from all over the world (most of whom probably do not want to be at the international school any more than you do) and there are plenty of extracurricular activities and parties available so I'm sure your social life will be fine.

It should be a very interesting experience, and from a career standpoint, spending a few years in China could help you a great deal in the future.

    Good luck!
