  1. ok, let's do this.

1st bypass the router and connect the PC to your internet direct. are you able to get internet/browse etc?

yes...!!! ok open up a command prompt, type at the prompt ipconfig /all

this will give you the DNS server Address from the ISP. note them down.

now connect the wireless router back, connect the PC to router.

go into wireless router add the DNS there... I have seen some linksys routers do not get DNS servers address from the ISP and you will have to mannually add them.

  2. try going into command promt (use RUN in the start menu and type cmd and then type in command prompt " ipconfig/release '' without the quotes and then wait a couple a second tell it responds and then go   ipconfig/renew that work all the time for mine.

  3. Read the manual and re-configure your router by logging in to it through your web browser as described. It should have your correct subscribed ISP user name and password before it can connect to your ISP. Then you need to ensure it has dhcp turned on, and that it looks up dns settings automatically. Do all this with the cable connected, then try the connection. If this does not work you probably have a bad connection to the ISP, or you would not be able to talk to the router. Once this works you will need to go to the wireless section, set your SSID and channel, then the wireless security and set the encryption key. After this you should be able to disconnect the cable and use the computer's wireless connection program to search for your SSID, set matching encryption and connect.

  4. did you read the manual?

    there must be one.

if not, read it. if no manual,

look up on the interent. my linksys gave me an ip number which i had to type in for it to work.
