my new d-link wireless n router was working fine for the past 3 months, and one day i restored my computer, it was still working but 3 days later, while playing my playstation online, and my connection dropped, it wouldnt work on my computer eather,

But if i connect my dsl modem directly to my computer, the iternet works, but it wont work through my router, my router doesnt pick up a connection

furthermore, when my dsl modem is connected to the router the ethernet light turns off for some reason, another thing, my wireless devices, such as my ps3 and psp pick up the connection name but will not connect to the internet

i have tried to go on to the default ip through the latest windows internet explorer and it shows up as a connection error, i have also tried turning off my modem and my router for 2 minuets and reconnecting several times, but it still doesnt work, i have also tried to reset the modem, and it still doesnt work

i looked at the Manuel and it didn't help

THANK YOU for any

  1. Your dsl provider should be able to troubleshoot this for you over the phone (my cable provider did when I had a similar problem -- ended up being solved with a new cable modem). They may initially resist troubleshooting a router, but be persistent.

If you can't get any help, you might need to call back and get a different support representative -- typically, a reluctance to help comes from a lack of experience with routers. If you get a rep who has some, they'll usually help.

  2. you have to uninstall tha whole program and do tha whole thing over agin frum tha start or it could be cross frequencies from like a phone or somethin

  3. I'm wondering if someone is picking up your wireless signal and steeling your connection. I answered your other question about how to test it, but now I'm wondering if it is not someone steeling your signal. I'm not sure how you would check that, but it is a real possibility. Call D-link and see how you can set it up to make it a secure connection, and making they can trouble shoot through the line to see if someone is steeling your bandwidth.
