What would happen when someone gets my (Internet Protocol) IP Address and Uses it without my knowledge? Please Advice. Thanks in advance.

  1. It is not possible,

    if on LAN both are using same IP address It will show IP conflict and connectivity will be stopped.

    Unless there is an open port which they can enter in with, your IP address should not be in danger. There are many ports but they have to be manually opened in order to be able to be used to manipulate the machine in which that IP address is assigned to (Kinda like a Sub7 Virus worked *trojan*).

    *Perspective: Using your ip to commit illegal activities*

    The IP address is distinctive to your computer which is issued by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). The only way anyone can use your IP is if they are connected directly from your internet source.

  3. They can't "use" your IP Address. You can have many computers on the same IP address. I hope that helps. You should still be on the internet at that location.
