IP Tracking other people's websites.

Question

With msn there is a thing called "what im listening to' and you can see what songs people other listening to.

Is there a program that tracks IP addresses to see what websites other people are on.

It doesnt have to be through msn...

I certainly hope not, wouldn't that be scary!  Websites can log the IP addresses of everyone that visits them.  However, there isn't a piece of software that can collect that data for the simple fact that the websites don't make that info available to the public (privacy concerns and such).

It is possible to monitor the websites a person visits if some sort of monitoring software were to be installed onto their computer.  I've used a program called Activity Monitor for years to monitor what the kids are doing.  It also will take screen-shots, record keystrokes, etc.  Because it allows you to connect remotely over a network, you don't need to physically visit the machine your monitoring; furthermore, you could possibly even monitor another computer over the internet.  The software can be made to run in stealth mode, so as to not alert the computer's user of its presence.  One note though, installing these types of programs on any computer other than those you own is quite illegal.  So basically if you don't own it, don't install it.

there are such programs. usually referred as spywares. or monitoring softwares.
