IP address fails when trying to connect to Xbox live?

I have a wireless adapter and im trying to get xbopx live, when i run a connection test, it gets to IP address and says fail everytime. How do I get a confirmed IP ADDRESS?

    If you need to do connectivity tests then visit http://www.network-tools.com

  3. reset the router, and if that doesnt work, get on your computer and find out your IP address and gateway address and all those and manually type them into xbox live

    and im no computer genius i know nothing about computers, this is what other ppl have told me.......xbox live sucks sometimes but good luck dude
